This year, make your tree a pernambuco

…because a tree is for life, not just for Christmas.

Christmas is a time for overindulgence and over consumption, but at Trees of Music, we are asking that people give a little bit back to the forest that provides us with so much, all year round.

We have launched a new JustGiving campaign, where people can donate as little as £1.50 to plant a pernambuco sapling, which will be cared for by master bow maker and ecologist Marco Raposo in his nursery in Brazil. These trees will be used to regenerate the Atlantic Forest, which is disappearing at an alarming rate, and with it, so will the music we love if we don’t act urgently to save it. Some of the trees we plant will go on to become violin bows, thereby creating a source of sustainable wood to keep the strings singing and the sounds of the forest alive.

This can make a great Christmas present for a loved one, or help to reduce your personal impact on the planet this Christmas. Please donate and head to our social media channels to share the campaign!
